A Letter from Principal Taylor |
Dear High-Performing Parents:
It is indeed a pleasure to welcome you to an exhilarating academic adventure in our high-performing learning community! With heartfelt gratitude, I thank you for choosing Redan Elementary School as your child(ren)'s educational home for the current school year. The staff and I are truly honored to serve you, and our goal is to make this school year a rewarding and nurturing learning period for all. |
| As a result of our perseverance and determination during the past school year, Redan made AYP and increased its CRCT math scores by 14 points! To continue walking this path of success, we must celebrate, but we cannot rest. Instead, we will graciously carry our proud traditions of a standards-based education for all and super strong partnerships with each other into the 2009-2010 school year. After all, it was these traditions that yielded our current victory. School Hours ( Office Hours: 7:00 A. M.-3:00 P.M.) Please make sure your child is here daily and on time. Parents of students with constant unexcused absences and tardies can experience legal consequences. The school opens at 7:00 A.M. each day. Instruction begins promptly at 7:45. |
| Students are considered tardy at 7:46 A.M. Breakfast will be served from 7:05 A. M. until 7:45 Students eating breakfast should arrive at school no later than 7:15 A. M. For safety reasons, students should not be dropped off at the school prior to 7:00 A.M. The school will not be held responsible for children dropped off before 7:00 A. M. Dismissal begins at 2:15 P. M. with car riders released at 2:30 P.M. Remember, arrival and dismissal times are hectic, so please drive with care and exercise great caution and patience. Safety First! |
| Parent/Teacher Conferences are strongly encouraged. However, in order to protect time on task for every child, teachers are not allowed to conference during instructional periods. Since instruction consumes the majority of the school day. I respectfully ask that you set up an appointment when needing to conference with your child's teacher. Staff telephone numbers are listed to the right of this letter under the Faculty and Staff heading. Nevertheless, parent volunteers are always welcome and an appointment is needed to visit the school and/or your child's classroom. |
